Harmful Effects of Added Sugar (Sucrose)

Added sugar, as opposed to natural sugars found in fruits, contributes to raises in blood pressure and cholesterol. It also increases your risk for liver failure, obesity, heart disease, diabetes and chronic pain.

Added sugar or, more specifically, sucrose, is an even mix of glucose and fructose found in high-fructose corn syrup and in table sugar made from sugar cane and sugar beets.

Replacing added sugar (sucrose) with natural sugars found in fruits can decrease inflammation which is a major cause of all types of pain.
