Bionicare is an FDA approved, non-invasive, therapy to treat osteoarthritis of the knee and rheumatoid arthritis of the hand. A wrap is placed on the knee or hand and attached to a small battery-powered transmitter for approximately six to eight hours every day. The transmitter sends an electrical signal to the hyaline cartilage cells in your joint. In animals, these electrical signals have been shown to stimulate the cells to regenerate the cartilage and reduce the inflammatory enzymes that cause pain and stiffness in joints. Bionicare has been shown to reduce pain and associated symptoms and produce overall improvement of the knee with osteoarthritis. Treatment with Bionicare can delay the need for a knee replacement in most patients treated for an average of twelve months.

Bionicare is based on technology proven to stimulate bone cells to produce bone. There have been no adverse effects associated with Bionicare besides a few patients who developed a rash from the gel.

Treatment for six months or more is required to obtain positive results. Most patients apply the wrap at night although it can be worn during the day when walking or sitting.
